Five books to entertain the kids in the backseat

For the Christian Science Monitor, Molly Driscoll named five books that are sure to keep kids occupied during a journey.

One title on the list:
The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories, by Dr. Seuss

If your copies of "The Cat in the Hat" and "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" are getting dog-eared but your child still wants more Seuss, this new collection of stories by the master – originally published in magazines in the 1950s – was released this fall, and the quirky characters featured are sure to keep your young reader busy. Check out the twins Tadd and Todd, a boy who dreams of being The Great Henry McBride, and Gustav the Goldfish, a pet who grows too quickly. Age range: 6 to 9 years old.
